I’ve been working in social for 10 years now, and I’ve seen the industry go from people rolling their eyes at those with ‘social media’ in their job title (rude I know), to it being a rather lucrative career.
My strengths typically point towards social media strategies, thought leadership, and paid social.
Time for a quick breakdown:
Strategy
I love getting my teeth into a new social media audit and seeing exactly what we’re working with. I’ve got an eye for spotting potential, and will make sure we dot our i’s and cross our t’s along the way. The cool fancy stuff you can do on social is great, but let’s make sure your content is accessible and following best practices first.
Thought leadership
Everyone and their next door neighbour cares about personal branding these days - and with good reason. I get immense joy (yes really) when I get to help enable people to share their talents and opinions on social media. Usually this will have me sitting down building out content pillars for you, setting up a personal dashboard, and us figuring out exactly what story you want to tell. It’s really fun. You might like it!
Paid social
Give me access to your campaign manager and we’ll have a blast. I don’t cut corners though! With a keen eye for detail, I’ll make sure your campaigns properly cater for your audience and where they are in their user journey. We need to think about their intent, and exactly what message you want to convey. That’s how you get results.
That sums up my general day-to-day. Alongside work, you’ll often find me either chatting away on a podcast (I’ve produced and co-hosted quite a few), or sharing my thoughts up on stage.
I’ve had the privilege of speaking across some of the biggest marketing conferences across the UK, including BrightonSEO, and have recently gone international - speaking at the International Social Summit in Barcelona.
When I’m not in work mode, you’ll find me doing one of several things. Adding article after article to my second brain in Notion - that I will come back to later (she says!), deciding what to cook that evening (I love food), or working out how many sunflowers I can reasonably grow in my back garden. And hope that the slugs don’t eat them all.
